PLACE SAINT LAMBERT à LIEGE

Plan directeur

Collaboration with Atelier d'Architecture du Sart-Tilman, 1987-88

Called in june 1987 by architect Claude Strebelle to extend the work already done for the layout of Place Saint Lambert in Liège, I had an opportunity to suggest a new parti.

It was possible, assuming the heavy constraints of automobile circulation, to give the place a shape that would also carry strong symbolical values : a heart-shaped envelope to the automobile and bus traffic, and a metro entrance.
And this vital organ is of course the hearth of the city.
