In march 1999, the Association Monument Ravensbruck entrusted the conception and realization of a memorial to the Belgian women prisoners in nazi camps and prisons to sculptor Therese Chotteau.
Location : Georges Henri Park in Woluwe Saint Lambert.
Like she had done before with other interventions in public space, Therese Chotteau recommended that the design of the surroundings should be conceived in relation to the sculpture, and be trusted to architect Thierry Gonze.
The latter proposed that the site chosen in park Georges Henri should receive three symbolical units wished by the Association : Therese Chotteau's sculpture in the center, and, on both sides, a texte written by a resistant on the eve of her execution, and a parterre of roses, the rose being an emblem of the association.
